Hello! My name is Alyssa (middle name Joy, hence the title of my site) and welcome to Sprinkle of Joy! This is my personal website that I created to share my life, encouraging stories and to just have fun!
Before you start reading, here’s a little about me… I am a follower of Jesus Christ and I’m passionate about sharing his love. I am married to love of my life. He is a wonderful, strong and loving man and I love our adventures as husband and wife. We have two kids, Joel and Savannah. Motherhood has become one of the most challenging but rewarding roles I’ve ever had. We also have a dog named Luna and a cat named Cosmo. I love to bake, and more importantly I love to eat — be sure to check out some of my yummy recipes! I also enjoying running (when we’re not binge watching something on Netflix). My husband and I are obsessed with HGTV and love DIY projects.
I currently part-time work for a small local government agency where I do communications and marketing. I have a bachelor’s degree in English and a minor in Communications from the University of Illinois at Chicago. I truly love writing and being creative, and I hope this site shows a little slice of that.
Life continues to be an adventure and I look forward to what God has in store for the future.

I absolutely love mushrooms. If it has mushrooms in it, I’ll eat it!
I have only traveled to two places outside the continental U.S., Guatemala and U.S.V.I. St. Croix.
My all time favorite movie is Gone with the Wind.
I had surgery when I was one day old to untwist my intestines and remove my appendix. Now I have a giant scar across my stomach.
I am a huge Star Wars nerd.
My husband and I met while we were both working at Buffalo Wild Wings.
I love the classic Disney movies.
One of my favorite places is Silver Lake Sand Dunes in Michigan. It’s where my husband proposed.
I’m crazy obsessed with all animals, especially my fur babies (they even have their own Instagram account!).
